“The Theory of Everything”

Now acknowledged as one of the most brilliant and celebrated physicists of our time, Stephen Hawking met Jane Wilde, an arts’ student, while studying at Cambridge in the 1960s.

A bright but shiftless student of cosmology, at the age of 21 he was given just two years to live following the diagnosis of what was regarded as a fatal illness. However, with the support of Jane, whom he married, he went on to be regarded by some as the successor to Einstein, and to become the father of their three children.

Over the course of their marriage Stephen became more and more incapacitated, his body ultimately being unable to perform any motor movements. While his academic renown continued to grow, unfortunately their marriage was severely tested, leading to developments that dramatically altered the course of both of their lives.

Eddie Redmayne is truly exceptional as Stephen Hawking and his performance is matched by Felicity Jones who plays his wife Jane.
