“Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”

A bit of nostalgia for everyone. With Jane Powell and Howard Keel this must be one of the most enduring musicals of all time.

We have been asked to screen some of the ‘good old’ Hollywood films and this is in response to that request.

If you’re not already familiar with the story, Adam, the eldest of the seven brothers brings a bride to their cabin, inspiring the unwed brothers to raid the local town and carry off brides of their own.

This feel-good story is set in the backwoods of 1850 Oregon. With fantastic dancing (Russ Tamblyn in particular) and some immortal songs, what more could you ask for?

Something to brighten up a November afternoon.
